Fashion, Sport & LarDen – How Our Sportswear Was Born
Clothing? Fashion? Sportswear?
When we created our very first Hobby Horse five years ago, we never imagined that one day we would also be designing clothing. What began with accessories for our beloved horses slowly evolved, step by step. The journey was long and often challenging, but every part of it was worth it. Today, there is LarDen clothing.
How It All Began
With the creation of our first Hobby Horses came our support for the early Hobby Horsing events. At first, these were small backyard competitions, but it didn’t take long before larger, official tournaments followed. Sending packages by post was no longer enough. Team LarDen had to be there in person.
But how would anyone recognize who belonged to the team? We needed our first Hobby Horse T-shirts. Everything moved quickly, and a major Hobby Horsing Championship was just around the corner. By then, LarDen was already working with test riders who would compete at the event.
A second round of T-shirts and sweatshirts followed, created specifically for the girls to wear at the tournament. The response was overwhelming. So many children wanted to wear LarDen as well. In that moment, we knew we couldn’t say no.
A Step Further
After the championship, we sat down as a team and discussed what our own Hobby Horse clothing collection should look like. In the end, we chose high-quality sports shirts and sweatshirts. Versatile pieces that work for training, competitions, and everyday wear.
Our goal was to create colorful, comfortable clothing that suits everyone. The most challenging part was selecting the right materials and refining the fit. That’s when we realized just how much work goes into well-designed sportswear.
The first pieces were sewn and tested by our daughters. Anything that didn’t fit perfectly was adjusted, and everything that was missing was improved.
This is how the first LarDen sports collection was created. Made from materials that are colorfast, quick-drying, breathable, and shape-retaining. And this is only the beginning.
We Did It!
In April, just before Easter, the moment finally arrived. Our very first sports collection was ready. Proudly, it took its place alongside our Hobby Horses.
